DOS Games

pac manUpon the recommendation of Tami I tried to find some old DOS games that I used to play before real computers were invented. While I found Pac-Man, I still can't find two that I want. My favorite was the one with aliens that were in a 9x9 block that came down until you shot them all. Only problem is, I have no idea what it was called. I also liked the block game that was like Pong, only you try to break away the little rectangles above the base with a little ball that bounces. Does anyone know what I am talking about? And what were their names?

Spring Bling

RitasHappy first day of spring!

Do you know how I knew today was the first day of spring?
Because I got my FREE Rita's ice today!
I tried the tangerine flavor (since they didn't have mango or strawberry) but I wasn't too enthused about it. Dont' get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it was free.

Creepy King Contest

The KingI stumbled upon a website that had a contest to photoshop in the creepy Burger King mask into a photo of your choosing. They were quite amusing. And a little disturbing if I might say so. A lot of the photos don't load anymore, but the ones that do are worth a looksie.

The KingEven though "The King" is creepy, I think that is what makes Burger King's advertising campaign so effective. Sometimes a buzz is what makes you memorable (even if it's eerily pedafilish).

Does anyone know of any more contests like these? I didn't even know they existed. I would love to participate next time.

BK

The highlight of my day was at Burger King. Yes that's right. My dad pulled up through the drive thru, stopped, and started giving his order. It wasn't the machine. It was the trash can. My dad was telling the blue trash can that he wanted a whopper. For some reason they stuck the trash can before the ordering thing and they do look vaguely similar...I still laugh at the thought. I'm still not sure whether my dad was joking or not.

Then, I really wanted chili. Is that too much to ask? Recycled hamburger chili, but they said they wouldn't sell it us because they couldn't find the lids. We said, "Oh we don't care, just hand it to us carefully." The woman was like, "No!, it's illegal to sell chili without a lid." Is that riduculous or what?

Ice Skating

ice skatingfallen
Yay, we had fun ice skating for Tami's birthday. Everyone fell at least once, I am happy to say. Some fell more than others, errrrr, yeah. Did I mention that I have a sore rear end?
I felt like I was 12 again, we did the hookie pookie, the chicken dance, the limbo, races, circles, the birthday game (birthday subject stands in the middle of the circle and the other push him or her), and our own synchronized ice dance. We were, what are they called?, the 'young hip roller skating crowd'... only on ice skates.

Top 100 Movies

movie still frameI was looking at movies in the new Circuit City that opened in Chambersburg and decided I should have some help with figuring out what to watch. I googled the American Film Institutes's top 100 movies of all time. Before I die I want to see all of them on the list. It's amazing how few of them I have actually seen.

Here's the list (plus a star by the ones I've already seen). Gee, I'd better get started watching now if I'm going to blaze through all of these before my death! At the rate I'm going I will have to live well into my 100's.

Bonus points if you know what movie the still shot is from!

And some big shockers. Fantasia was one of the worst movies ever created (if you can call it a movie), and I hear Citizen Kane sucked too. Plus I hated Forrest Gump and Lawrence of Arabia was hardly a nail-biter. Never mind, I have better things to do than watch all these movies. Please disregard this post.

Cilantro

Something Jenn hates part number three, I think.

cilantro I don't particularly like cilantro. It overpowers everything and subsequently ruins whatever it is. Especially with Mexican food. If I can't taste it, no big deal, but if I can, yuck!

Hold the cilantro please.

Froggy

Today while I was taking my shower I kept turning up the heat of the water. I am one of those people who like the water to hit your back so hard that it hurts. I can't stand pitty little drizzle showers.

frogBut, anyway, I kept on thinking, I'm just like those poor little frogs that they boil to death. I bet you could increase the heat of my shower in tiny increments untill it burned all my skin off, and I'd continue to stand there. Oh, the allegories!

And the game Frogger too. What do humans have against the poor little guys? We are either boiling them to death or running them down in cars. Sad.
