Camp YoliJwa!

Yay, I'm leaving. Won't hear from me in a week. I'm counseling at YoliJwa-- 8th graders. I am going to be sooooo tired by the end of the week but I am going to have fun. Supposed to be deadly humid hot too, yuck. Well adios kids.

  1. Hello - I googled camp YoliJwa in a moment of feeling old - I went to camp there for 9 years starting in the sixtys and then spent the summers of 70, 71, 72 amd 73 on staff as one thing or another. I have great memories of it and am glad others (like you) are doing the same now - so enjoy some day you may be old like me and enjoy looking up your old memories on the net - we never heard of the web in our days at Yolijwa.

Just like the last post, I to went to Camp Yolijwa a ling time ago, back in the 80s and I to woke up this morning feeling old and for some reason, the camp pooped into my mind so I started to google hoping to catch up with some old friends...I am very happy to see that the camp is still in full swing, my last yeat there was back in 1994, my Senior year of High School....it is always great to relive some memories....

  5. I believe Don Billett Sr and Jenn are talking about two different locations. I believe Don is talking about PA and Jenn is talking about CA. How would I know that unless I know Don?

  6. Hello. I'm glad we all have an appreciation for Camp YoliJwa. I didn't realize there was more than one. I happened to writing about the one in PA, because I'm pretty sure that's what we all shouted at the end of the infamous camp song. Anyway, no matter which one you are familiar with, thanks for the comments.

I remember waking up early one morning even before the Polar Bear Swim .. We had snuck to the sister companies camp site.. As they were camping outside that particular night . we sang to them quietly and then the last verse we screamed !! And proceeded tobwake up the whole csmp screaming all the way back to our cabin . good...no. GREAT TIMES !!!
