My What a Pretty Tree

Did you have a happy Earth Day yesterday?

The Weeping Cherry Tree in my front yard is gorgeous. Warmer weather, flowering plants (especially pink trees), and rainy afternoons are perhaps my favorite part of spring.


My least favorite parts of spring are the new emergence of spiders, bugs, and thousand leggers. They start to "spring" up and I despise them. They must die. I have a closet arsenal of Raid. Bah ha ha, little buggies.

Spring Break

Whoo. It's officially spring break for me. There will be no bikinis, beaches, fruity drinks with umbrellas, sunshine, or anything else that is normally associated with the college phenomenon known as Spring Break. I will be hanging out at home trying to get stuff done--namely ceramics and an American Lit paper (not to say that I have ever participated in the common notion of spring break revelry). Hopefully though, I will have the chance to do something fun. We shall see.

But in good news, or rather really good news, I got a call this morning that I answered with a grogy hello. It was a professor from Boston University who was on the application review committee telling me that I have been accepted to the Department of Communication at BU. Whooo. I am quite pleased.

Weeping Cherry Tree

The tree in our front yard is sooooo pretty, despite the fact my dad cut off all the bottom branches so he can mow the grass underneath. The poor tree looks half-naked, he he.

The only negative thing about a weeping cherry tree is the mess it makes. My car always gets covered in a rainstorm of tiny pink petals that stick to the windshield. I just wish those little boogers would stay on year round.

Yellow Spring

Yes, I am off to write poetry about yellow spring now, I've been inspired. The last poem I wrote was about suffocation... at least this one is sure to be more cheery!

Spring Bling

Happy first day of spring!

Do you know how I knew today was the first day of spring?
Because I got my FREE Rita's ice today!
I tried the tangerine flavor (since they didn't have mango or strawberry) but I wasn't too enthused about it. Dont' get me wrong, I'm not complaining, it was free.
